sports
it would be way boring with sports. the fall is pretty sweet. nfl, college football on every weekend. the tribe is still going strong, on their way to the world series! bball starts up soon too. this year, i'mma stay in sf for thanksgiving. it'll be the first time i'm not going somewhere for thanskgiving. sad as that is, this means i can participate in turkey bowl for once! watch out people. this is a lil' a preview of what's coming atcha -
these guys are serious. look at that wad of cash... and the sunglasses.
no one looks cooler playing football than this crew.
we let girls play too. sometimes.
this is a real man. look at the hair on his arms.
haha crap, this was fun to caption. in actuality, this past saturday was just too nice a day to stay in, so we went out to throw the football around... and somehow it turned into a photoshoot. thanks, jen, for the help on these shots. and nice shot of henry! i didn't know you were talking so many shots of him while he was flexing his muscles and stuff.
oh, also bumped into this good looking newly wed couple!
yea, i don't post much. i predict i won't be posting til after the indians finish off the red sox.

a month later...
let's see. since last post a lot has happened. sometimes i post a lot about a lot of stuff going on, but when i post less, it means there's actually even more going on - so much that i don't find time to sit down and post.
first there was the grx sf retreat...then i flew back to chicago...
to return to TAF. i only managed to take photos on wednesday...
taf was amazing, but i was also incredibly thankful when the week was complete. i finally had a chance to relax... sorta. i went down to la for rayray's wedding (but accidentally lost those photos this morning!! ARGH). it was a good weekend. here are some shots from playing in stacie's pool...
finally, a few more photos from small group just hanging out...

tonight i'll be sleeping in, something i haven't been able to do in 4 week straight! i can't wait. i get pumped up just thinking about sleeping!

aloha!
dang. it's been a long time since i've posted. let's see, so over memorial day weekend, i went with 11 other sf friends to oahu for 4 nights. we found great fares and hotel rates back in january so we booked the trip back then and had been looking forward to it ever since. to me, it was the perfect mix of straight relaxing, eating yummy food, and doing stuff like hiking diamond head, surfing, snorkelling in hanauma bay, cliff jumping in waimea, shrimp trucks up north shore, etc.
here's a mix of my pics + jen's pics:
stephie and jane on the plane before landing in honolulu
al was pumped right from the start
first morning on the beach. we were out there from 7am - 2pm!! we got fried =/
jules and nebbie floating around. floating around on these rafts was one of my favorite parts of the trip.
this is jane. she's riiiippped!
this is before our hike up diamond head crater. everyone's out in the middle of the crater
me and henry hanging from the fort at the top of diamond head
lisa and nebbie thinking the tunnel is a roller coaster
this is in kualoa park i think. we drove half way around the island and took a break here to check out the chinaman's hat island.
that's the chinaman's hat in the back.
i dunno what al's doing in the back there.
then we continued around the island. this is the mustang convertible that julie aka mama hertz hooked us up with. jules is the best.
and this is a shot of some mountains that jen got while we drove on
we stopped for the famous shrimp trucks. this is at giovanni's which is supposedly the original shrimp truck. we saw some imposters down the road.
we all ordered and then eargerly awaited our food.
after the shrimp trucks, we drove up to waimea bay beach. this is me and al getting out of the water.
we were trying to spell OHIO (we all grew up in ohio) but we lacked another O... =(
this is al, returning to shore after saving someone's life i think
towards the end, we went cliff jumping into the bay. this is nebbie jumping from the top! i was scurred. i jumped from the lower cliff.
here are the girls, all dressed up for our dinner at sam choy's. there's no picture of the guys because we're scrubs and only brought jeans and polos.
jane, jen, and stephie with their island drinks
when you get 15 people together to eat a fancy meal, figuring out the tab is tough stuff
on our last day, we went to hanauma bay to go snorkelling. at first it was raining and the parking lot was full, but we were persistent and waited for the parking lot to open up and finally made it in.
henry, me, and al after looking at fish
we went to rainbow drive-in for lunch. local style plate lunch food.
i always act like a little brother to julie. she loves it.
we went looking for some souvenirs in the afternoon. i tried to learn the ukelele.
pressed for time, bk was our final meal. i know. pretty lame.
view from above duke's restaurant.
another shot.
man, it was a really really good vacation. i missed a ton of photo ops because i didn't carry my camera with me everywhere. but yea we did a ton of stuff, and it was relaxing the whole time, even with a 12 person group. i love hawaii and i love how close it is to sf. i wanna go back every year.
